Meet #1 Info & Volunteer Explanation
October 20th
Rams,
Meet #1 is here! Each week, we will send out an email with reporting times and other vital information you need. This is a home meet, and as mentioned at our meeting, it requires more volunteers than away meets.
Meet #1: Central Gwinnett @ Grayson
Location: Mountain Park Aquatic Center
Meet Time: 7:20 PM
Itinerary
- 6 PM - Report time set up crew
- 6:15 PM - Report time for swimmers, check in on deck with coaches
- 6:30 PM - Spectators can enter the building & warm-up starts
- 6:50 PM - Volunteers must report to Janet/Eric Jensen to check in by this time (timers will receive their stop watches)
- 7:10 - timers meeting
- 7:20 - meet starts
Meet Information
- Each swimmer will have 2 individual events and up to 2 relays. Relays are based on times and ability for swimmers, and not every swimmer will get to swim them
- Swimmers are expected to wear their swimsuit underneath their spiritwear (more info on this in the sections below)
- Swimmers must have towels, swim caps (again, more information on this can be found below), goggles, and their own snacks and hydration on them at each swim meet.
- Swimmers must stay through their assigned events AND verify with Coach Jenna and Stewart that they do not need to wait to sub for any relays before leaving
- If you RSVP, you are expected to be there on time. We make the meet according to the RSVP and you can easily cost the team points by not showing up
- Parents must stay in the observation area (stands) and are not allowed on deck unless they are volunteering
- Swimmers are expected to stay on deck for the duration of the meet, so no events are missed
Volunteering
- For our regular meets, please sign up where you can, UNLESS you have been trained for set up/take down or for a computer table job (computer or console). In which case, we need you in those positions.
- CONCESSION STAND: I will bring concession stand items, an iPad to run it, and cash for change. I will need one person to take charge of it who volunteers when we are the home team.
- CLODY & COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP: Please note that these are massive events we are responsible for when it comes to getting the concession stand ready. We ask that you please sign up for the slots, understanding that it is a whole shift job and that the times listed may change as we near the events.
Spirit Wear, Backpacks, Swim Caps
- All swimmers get a team jacket, shirt, and swim cap.
- New swimmers receive a swim bag
- All of these items have been ordered, and we are waiting for them to be ready. Once we have a timeline of when they will be delivered I will let you know
- Should you need a swim cap for Saturday, Coach Stewart will have some from previous years. Returning swimmers, bring your gold caps or county/state caps.
Thank you for all you do. We look forward to a great meet this weekend!
